Osteoporosis can affect people of any gender, but women make up the majority of cases, and over 40 million people in the US have osteoporosis or are at high risk because of low bone mass, according to the National Institutes of Health.
This World Osteoporosis Day, let us understand more about this lesser known disease.
Normal bone is composed of protein, collagen, and calcium, all of which give bone its strength. Bones that are affected by Osteoporosis can break with relatively minor injury that normally would not cause a bone to fracture.
To make sure we are well aware about Osteoporosis, let’s go through a few symptoms to detect it at an early stage.
Osteoporosis can happen to anyone. To create awareness amongst our staff about the effects & causes of Osteoporosis, we at Choithrams had arranged an awareness session at our Deira Head Office by Dr Sanjeev Chaudhary, Chief Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Director of Chaudhary Hospital & post Graduate Institute of Orthopaedics on 28th September 2016
It was an interactive session attended by about 50 female employees from Choithrams.
Show your bones, some love this World Osteoporosis Day!
Don’t forget to share this piece of goodness with your loved ones.
